OurRoot® is an interdisciplinary online journal dedicated to publishing the finest scholarship relating to the African continent. It was initiated to serve as a forum people of all nations, particularly Africans and friends of Africa, to publish articles and/or share information about Africa. There is so much fake news and misinformation about Africa in newspapers, journals and social media, with intent to define Africans.  In the context of the time honoured African proverb: “Until the lion learns how to write, every story will glorify the hunter.” In other words, until Africans educate each other and the world at large about Africa, others will force through our throats heavy doses of fake news, such that, if not corrected, will be accepted as facts. Join us to celebrate Africa—the Motherland of Humanity, the Cradle of Civilization and the Continent of the future. Log in to OurRoot® and post an article on any subject of interest to you—history, culture, politics, governance, family, economic, health, global affairs, sports, inventions, creative knowledge and arts, education, war and peace, tourism, development, resources, etc. If you can speak and talk, you can write. The editors will review your work to make you and your article look good. Manuscript in French is welcome.

As the name of this website implies, Africa is our motherland--our root. We cannot abdicate the responsibility of saving Africa to others. Otherwise, the hard-won independence would be of no meaning.

Humanitarian organizations owned by Africans in the Diasporas and individuals interested in carrying out humanitarian missions to Africa are invited to register and join us in this 21st Century African Renewal mission. Contact us if you require more information.

Show your pride of our past and heritage that has made Africa unique in the world by posting historical monuments, arts, national and significant cultural events in the gallery.  Remember: however far the stream flows, it never forgets its source.
